Purdue University, B.A. in Elementary Education with a Minor in Spanish and a Concentration in Reading
Ms. Wardell joined our faculty in 2018. She comes to us with honors from Purdue and completed her student teaching in a Kindergarten classroom in Lafayette, Indiana. During that time she guided students with varying ability styles and incorporated technology into her daily instruction through the use of instructional applications, such as “Teach Your Monster to Read.” At Purdue University, she was a member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority and Kappa Delta Pi, where she was able to participate in STEM activities.
As an educator, “I believe that effective instruction is tailored to the unique learning styles of each student in my classroom. Thus, my priority will be to learn about each student inside and outside the classroom through activities during the school year. I will strive to create a welcoming classroom environment where all of my students look forward to coming on a daily basis. I believe that an effective teacher is excited and passionate about what they do every day. It is vital that I share this passion with my students to inspire them to be lifelong learners.”
Her interests include technology, traveling, working with kids, and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to teach 2nd Grade at St. Barnabas! Go Buckeyes!
