Mrs. Morgan has been part of the St. Barnabas family since 2014. In 2018, she shifted from her role as our music teacher/school counselor to a full-time focus on the social-emotional/counseling needs of our students. She is endorsed as a school counselor and also holds an active Professional Counseling License in the State of Illinois.
Prior to coming to St. Barnabas, she was a high school counselor for three years. She has also been recognized for completion of the Academy for College Admission Counseling 3-Year Program and attended the Marine Corps Educator Workshop by invitation in 2014.
She says, “I believe in a student-centered counseling approach based around the founding idea that every child has the ability to succeed. Through a mix of research-based techniques, true empathy, and unconditional positive regard, counselors help students to thrive in their academics, career readiness, and social/emotional spheres. I strive to exude positivity and create a warm, comforting environment in every interaction with students.”
When she’s not at school, Mrs. Morgan loves spending time with her young son, husband, friends and dog. She enjoys traveling, board games, playing the flute, cooking, fantasy/science fiction novels and films and playing video games.
