PE
The Physical Education Program at St. Barnabas School is designed to be much more than exercise--it is focused on the total development of the child. Students learn basic skills and gain knowledge that will help them grow not only physically but mentally and socially. It includes movement/skill development, an introduction to many sports and games, and covers current health and safety issues.
During the course of our pre-school through 8th grade program, students learn about healthy eating habits, listening and following directions, using various fitness equipment, personal safety, and proper ways to engage in various sports, among other skills.
Through these experiences, students learn to appreciate themselves and others. They gain a better understanding of movement, skills and rules so they can choose and build on physical activities they enjoy throughout their lives. We believe that a healthy, active person is better equipped to meet life’s vast array of challenges.
