Band

The Band Program offers affordable music instruction for students interested in playing any band instrument. All St. Barnabas students in 4th through 8th grades are welcome to join the band. Instruction is provided by Philip Enns, who teaches at several other area schools.  Band lessons are held every Tuesday during the school day, and rehearsals, when needed, are after school from 3-3:45 pm.

Band students learn more than how to read notes and play an instrument. Participating in band boosts self-esteem, helps students to learn self-discipline and gives them the confidence to take on new challenges. They also learn teamwork and cooperation as they learn how to play with a group of musicians.

Band members perform in yearly Christmas and Spring Concerts. They also perform at a High School Band Night, along with an Individual Concert and Solo Contest and Adjudication.

If you would like more information about the Band at St. Barnabas, please contact Philip Enns directly at [email protected].

Children's Choir

Members of the St. Barnabas Children’s Choir use their voices to enhance liturgies during the school year. All St. Barnabas and religious education students in 3rd through 8th grades are welcome to join the Choir. The choir is directed by Kitty Ryan, the St. Barnabas Pastoral Associate / Director of Music and Liturgy. Rehearsals for the 2022 – 2023 school year are held each Wednesday from 3:00 to 4:30 pm in the Church.

The Children’s Choir leads the music at various liturgies from September through May. A detailed schedule will be distributed at the beginning of each school year. Anyone who loves to sing is encouraged to join in this fun, exciting and fulfilling ministry. It is a wonderful opportunity for the young members of our faith community to learn more about their faith and to serve both God and our parish.
