The St. Barnabas Student Council is an organization through which students can become involved in the affairs of the school, working in partnership with school administration and staff for the benefit of St. Barnabas School and its students. Student Council promotes school spirit through its involvement in student activities and assemblies and manages the school's recycling efforts. In addition to school spirit, Student Council promotes the ideals of Christian living and mercy through charitable causes and service. Past activities have included:

To celebrate 2021 Catholic Schools Week, student council created a video for World Read Aloud Day, featuring teachers and staff recommending their favorite books! The St. Barnabas Student Council is comprised of a 10-member Board of Commissioners. Students in grades 6 through 8 who have a C average or higher and have attended St. Barnabas for at least two years are eligible to run for an office on the Board of Commissioners. Elections take place at the end of the year preceding the year of office.

A calendar of meetings is created at the beginning of the school year with a minimum of one meeting per month to be held after school for a minimum of 45 minutes. Additional meetings as needed may be added.
