Pastoral Announcement - March 2026

Dear St. Barnabas Families,

As shared at Church this past weekend, pastoral changes will take place this summer at St. Barnabas.

Father Donovan has been named as the new pastor of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Orland Park and will begin his new position on July 1. We extend our deep love and gratitude to Father Donovan for his time and care serving the St. Barnabas community for the past 18 years. We will miss his daily presence, but we are all connected as one Church, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Father Donovan - Once a Buckeye, Always a Buckeye.

As a parish school, we welcome Father Homero Sanchez, O.S.A., as pastor of St. Barnabas beginning on July 1. As part of the Southside Parish Renewal effort, Father Sanchez will serve as pastor of St. Barnabas and Christ the King Parishes. Father Sanchez, an Augustinian priest, brings a wealth of experience and energy, and we graciously welcome him into our school and parish community. Much as Pope Leo XIV shepherds our global society in the Augustinian tradition of truth, unity, and compassion for all, Father Sanchez embodies those same Augustinian values.
