About St. Barnabas School

100 YEARS OF ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE - One of the first Catholic schools on the southside of Chicago, St. Barnabas is a beacon of faith, kindness, and community. As a forward-thinking school, we embrace change, and with generations of families living, serving, and learning at St. Barnabas, we also honor our traditions.

Part of the Archdiocese of Chicago, St. Barnabas was founded in 1924 in the historic Beverly neighborhood, about 25 minutes south of downtown. Open to grades PK3 - 8, our beautifully maintained campus is home to close to 500 students.

At St. Barnabas, we set high academic expectations for all of our students and provide a nurturing environment and numerous levels of support to ensure their success. Every student has different gifts, talents, and interests, and we seek to embrace and cultivate each individual's strengths. Our students consistently earn high scores on standardized tests and are admitted to their first-choice high schools.

THE MISSION OF ST. BARNABAS SCHOOL - Our mission is to provide a dynamic and diversified Catholic environment where we aspire to grow and live in faith and knowledge. We offer educational experiences that foster success, promote unity, and respect the individuality of each student. Through a variety of programs and services, St. Barnabas Catholic School successfully prepares students for the endless challenges that lie ahead. Rooted in faith, tradition, and friendship, our parish school empowers students to develop their unique capabilities to live, lead, and serve in an ever-changing global society
