School Board Application

Dear St. Barnabas Parents/Guardians,

As the school year winds down, the School Advisory Board is beginning to plan for the upcoming school year. Part of that process includes seeking new members for the Board willing to volunteer their time and talents to support the excellent work of teachers, administration, students, and staff at St. Barnabas School.

We are grateful to our departing Board members for their generosity and willingness to serve: EJ Jones  (Past Board Chair), conference/events director; Olwen Hahn, physician; Kelli Malone, attorney; Peggy Barry, cyber security manager; and Jeana Reichard, teacher/administrator. We thank them all for their leadership, expertise, and unwavering energy, which they have shared with the school community.

Our returning Board members are: Matt Burke, attorney; Nora Gill, attorney; Mark Piper, ministry director/writer; Patrick Wirtz, technology sales; Amber Newsome, teacher; CJ Shapard, sales and marketing; and Nick O’Connor, attorney.

At this time, we are seeking new Board members to fulfill a 3-year term that will run from June 2026 through June 2029. Members are expected to attend monthly meetings, organize and facilitate functions and events, and actively serve and participate on committees. Board members collaborate and support ongoing school initiatives, recommend and review policies, review and advise on the annual school budget, and represent all members of the St. Barnabas school community.

The roles and expectations for a School Advisory Board Member are linked HERE and listed on the school website under the tab: Auxiliary > School Advisory Board. If you are interested in serving on the School Advisory Board, please complete the application. Applications will be accepted through May 8, 2026. Once applications are received, the Selection Committee will set up interviews with interested candidates during the following two weeks.

We also remind you of the upcoming Open Forum meeting on May 11. Learn more HERE or in the school newsletter.

Interested applicants are encouraged to reach out to current or past board members for more information. As always, thank you for your support of St. Barnabas School and for your interest in serving on the Board.

Best Regards,
Nora Gill
