Tuition & Fees
AS A CATHOLIC SCHOOL, St. Barnabas is funded primarily by tuition. We recognize that a tuition-based Catholic education is a sacrifice for many families, but we are confident that a commitment to a St. Barnabas education offers significant benefits for your child and family. Tuition and incidental billings are paid online through FACTS Tuition Management.
St. Barnabas is not a Big Shoulders Fund school, and with the elimination of Empower Illinois, we currently have limited scholarship funds.

TUITION SUBSIDY - Families who are registered and active parishioners of St. Barnabas Church are eligible for a tuition subsidy. Active parishioners are practicing Catholics registered with St. Barnabas Church who have a demonstrated history of support for the parish (regular mass attendance and contributions of time, talent, and/or treasure). We encourage new parish families to register with the parish before submitting their school registration in order to be eligible for the following school year. Visit the St. Barnabas Catholic Church site to begin exploring or register as a parishioner.
ADDITIONAL FEES - In addition to the tuition fees detailed above, families should also budget for annual school uniform fees (approximately $200 per student), school supplies (approximately $150 per student), and yearly field trips and service initiatives (approximately $50 per student).
8th GRADE - There is an additional $325 Event & Graduation Fee for each 8th-grade student.
6th GRADE IPAD FEE - The cost will be added to your tuition account for the 6th-grade school year. Upon graduation or departure from St. Barnabas School, families will fully own the device. The iPads are for school-related work and, due to restrictions and available apps, are not for personal use outside of school work. We offer pricing ranging from ~$400 to $700, depending on the generation, storage capacity, and length of AppleCare. For specific questions about the fees associated with the Jr. High iPad purchase, please contact our Technology Director, Mrs. Kathleen Davies at [email protected].
SPORTS & ACTIVITIES - There is an additional registration fee for St. Barnabas sports and after-school enrichment classes (~ $75 - $200 per activity).
Additional miscellaneous expenses may include hot lunch fees, extended (before or after) care program, and optional periodic dress-down donations or fundraising contributions.
FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIPS - Through the Parish Buckeye Scholarship, we offer a limited number of partial scholarships to active parishioners who demonstrate financial need and volunteer their time and talent to our community. St. Barnabas is not a Big Shoulders Fund school, and with the elimination of Empower Illinois, we have limited funds for additional scholarships at this time.

AN EASY WAY TO HELP WITH TUITION COSTS is to consider Raise Right - Scrip!
Raise Right (known as Scrip) is a gift card program. Families can purchase gift cards from approved vendors and earn credit toward their St. Barnabas tuition. Whether you are a family new to the school or have been at St. Barnabas for years but are not using Scrip - we encourage you to take a few minutes to learn about how the program may benefit your family. Example credit earnings - 14% at Gap & Old Navy, 10% at Chipotle, Barraco’s, Roseangelas, and Beverly Bakery, and 8% at Tranquility Salon.
Connect with the Scrip Coordinator, Julie McGrath [email protected], for more information or to enroll in the program.
